we're almost in sweetwater... the day has gone extremely well. john is doing an excellent job of leading the caravan and getting us to our destinations either early or on time. it also helps that we've got a fairly experienced caravan... everyone has done this before, most of us many times, with the exception of two cars.
it's wonderful to travel with the additional cars from dallas... we look damn impressive and we've got some color variety. there's just nothing like a yellow bug with dark tints travelling across the plains under a big, bright blue sky-- and we've got two of them.
i look forward to working out by the pool tonight!
(maybe one of the reasons i feel so good is because dan drove all day :)

Destination: Sweetwater! whee!
today we're off to the welcoming arms of sweetwater, the town that loves us.

i'm up early for some reason this morning... sitting outside the hotel room where it's light, so i can catch up on work without waking stephanie (hopefully).
apparently this is what time all the travelling retirees get up... i'm being somewhat swarmed with gray-haired people walking around with suitcases. there's a smoker having his first cigarette of the day below me; i can smell it, and hear him coughing.
last night we got into texarkana a full hour early, thanks to john's good leadership. we went looking for the restaurant that had wanted us to eat with them last year... last year we got in so late that we didn't eat until 10pm, after they'd closed. well, they were closed again this year... permanently. they'd gone out of business! happily, we didn't have to resort to Sonic like we did last year. we found a place called (believe it or not), "The Ole Feed Bag". it was actually not bad... i felt a little bit like i was back in carolina, with steamed shrimp, fairly decent slaw, and hush puppies. it was all real food, homemade. i even had a spoonful of stephanie's hot fudge sundae. that made me look forward to the Dairy Queen where we always stop on the last day; there i plan to have a whole cone to myself.
i'm working on uploading yesterday's photos now; you'll have to go to the Wednesday page to see them. i need to get stop soon though, so i can beat steph to the shower. ElectraSteph will appreciate my reasons for that...

i think i'm too tired to do photos or video tonight. i've got video of the pyramid in memphis, as well as a drive-by down the line of beetles.
yeah, too tired to write.
