Lessons learned...

- condoms break. they're probably not meant to survive at 65+ mph for hours at a stretch.

- web cams stop working when they get wet.

- web cams dry out pretty fast and start working again!

Oh, and um, does anyone know how to separate two incredibly powerful magnets which have stuck together? Any helpful little tricks?

Posted by: lisa on June 18, 2003 06:57 PM

Hi Lisa:

What a great job you are doing. Saw your setup a couple of years ago at R2K and was impressed!

If you can rotate one of the magnets and then try to pull them apart it might work.

Wish I had changed my schedule so I could go to R2K. But I will be on duty over the weekend as a volunteer chaplain at the hospital. I plan to go next year which will only be my second time.

Fred and Rollo.

ray says "twist 'em" and that will probably help. (but he also acknowledges that you've probably already tried that.)

does spacepod know it's ray's birthday? does spacepod care? why is spacepod fleeing ray on his birthday? :)

You should have asked me for reccommendations. (rimshot)

I found the colour change infor on the web eventually. VW didn't have it on their site, but there was another dite that actually developed the paint...

try sliding the magnets apart sideways

Posted by: Michael on June 19, 2003 09:30 AM

Thanks to Mike and Tom and a couple of screwdrivers, the magnets are apart.

The color changer is a custom paint job. Charles

Oops -- posted accidentally.

Charles tells us the paint company is PPG, the line is Harlequin Essence, and the color is Autumn Glow. It has a silver base coat. They've come out with a whole line of color shift pastels recently -- they're similar to the ones VW produced.

so tell us... how many NBs are with the caravan today? are you guys tired yet? aside from the incessant rain, how has the trip been so far?

Posted by: christa on June 19, 2003 12:54 PM

slide them sideways :) How come today is still the 18th? Did you forget to wake up this morning? Fuse #16 10 amp for A/C on 98/99 models, I sent you the pages from the bentley manual.

I thought that looked like good ol' DFW. I think you'll have better weather today to Sweetwater. That is always Cameron's one stop on his way to and from Waco. I think he found NB Hot Wheels at the K-Mart just last week!

Safe travels. SYIR tomorrow!!

Posted by: Karen Talley on June 19, 2003 01:24 PM

Yeah. Be sure to take the 70 exit in sweetwater, or you WILL be sorry. Watch the signs carefully, and exit when the sign says EXIT NOW. All the construction has really messed things up. Then just stay on the access road.

SYIR!

hey there!
i'm loving the spacepod cam pix, esp. in slideshow mode. captions are very cool. but, a lexus?!!? dear me, the decline of standards in the early 21st century is a depressing thing...

Thanks, Mitch! We called Russ, and he'll be fine.

Thanks for the directions, Cameron -- we'll be sure to tell Cet.

We picked up several bugs in Dallas and have quite a lively radio conversation going. Anyone want a two-day-old hamburger?
